Jan-Marco Luczak

Jan-Marco Luczak (born 2 October 1975) is a German lawyer and a politician (CDU) and represents his constituency at the Federal German Parliament, the “Deutsche Bundestag”.

Biography

Jan-Marco Luczak was born in Berlin (Germany) on 2 October 1975. He attended the secondary school Ulrich-von-Hutten-Gymnasium in Tempelhof and passed his university-entrance diploma (Abitur) in 1995. After the successful diploma Luczak served the general conscription in the German Army.

Moreover, Jan-Marco Luczak began to study law at the Free University of Berlin. After his first national examination, Luczak worked for an international law firm. He was affiliated to the scholarship programme of Konrad-Adenauer-Foundation and finally received the doctor's degree, Doctor of Laws (LL.D.), at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University (Munich). His dissertation („Die Europäische Wirtschaftsverfassung als Legitimationselement europäischer Integration“; translated: The European economic constitution as the legitimated element of European Integration) was supervised by the former Minister of Defence, Rupert Scholz, Prof. LL.D.

After having successfully passed the second national examination Jan-Marco Luczak has been working as a lawyer for an international law firm in Berlin (Germany) since then.[1]

Politics

As a full member of the Committee on Legal Affairs[2] and additionally a deputy member of the Committee on Internal Affairs in the Bundestag (since 17th legislation period) - his majority of work is focussed on justice- and economic politics.

Within the parliament Luczak is additionally a member of the German Parliamentary Society, the German-French, the German-Polish and the German-American (USA) Parliamentarian Group.

Political Vita

Since 1998 Jan-Marco Luczak has been a member of the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU). He’s been also involved in several different positions, for instance: Treasurer and regional chairman of the youth organisation “Young Union” of the Christian Democrats. Furthermore, the politician Luczak has been elected for chairman of the local CDU in Berlin-Lichtenrade in 2006. Besides, he’s been the deputy chairman of the regional CDU in district Tempelhof-Schöneberg (Berlin) since 2007.

In 2009 Jan-Marco Luczak ran for the direct Membership of Parliament (MP) in his electoral district Tempelhof-Schöneberg of Berlin. He won his electoral district with 32, 4% (54.925 votes) of direct votes after 15 years for the CDU.[3]

Jan-Marco Luczak enjoys riding motorbikes and running marathons.
